Due to an increased work load we are expanding our team in both East Anglia and the Southern Region.
We are looking for experienced people to fill the following roles:
- Climbing Arborists
Experienced Tree Climbers to carry out shaping and reduction work rigging and dismantling including working with cranes and MEWPS. The role would also involve work on steep slopes clearing vegetation and carrying out ground base works when required.
- Ground Staff for general vegetation clearance operations.
Experienced Operatives to carry out vegetation clearance work including strimming and brush cutting, use of wood-chippers, tree felling, knapsack spraying.
- Fencers
Fencing Operatives experienced in all types of industrial and agricultural fencing, ranging from Palisade, V Mesh, Weld Mesh, Chain-link, Hoarding, Post and Rail and Stock Fencing.
- Plant Operators.
Qualified Plant Operators with experience in operating 360 Tracked Excavators above and below 10 Tonnes, Tracked Dumpers, Telehandlers, Agricultural Tractors. Excavator operators would require experience in using attachments such as grapples, tree shears, stump shears and mulcher flails. Other duties would involve feeding whole tree chippers and loading lorries with wood chip.
- Yard Manager
We are looking for a Yard Manager to run our yard at East Hanningfield, the role would involve organising deliveries of equipment and materials to and from site. Pre delivery inspections of plant before it is delivered to sites. Organising deliveries and collections of plant and equipment with our haulage contractor and the site teams. Organising Loler inspections of lifting equipment, climbing and rigging kits. Ordering fuel and maintaining stock levels of materials. Co ordinating periodic inspections of vehicles, plant and equipment with the Workshop Manager as well as keeping the yard in clean and tidy condition. The successful applicant would need to be self-motivated and have a mind for logistics.
Qualifications required:
PTS, CPCS, CSCS, NPTC, LANTRA, Steep Slope working, First Aid at Work, Manual Handling
All the work we carry out at Fen Contracts is based around large scale Railway Infrastructure projects, construction sites or Government Facilities. We require people who are willing to work within the constraints that these sites require, and that are able to pass a (DBS) Personal Background Check,
Drug and Alcohol Test and Medical at the Pre-Employment Stage. Our team members must be organised and punctual with good communication skills and be able to deliver work to the highest standards. We are looking for adaptable people who can work well within a team or alone and have the ability, to adapt working methods to suit the job at hand. Tools and equipment will be issued for the roles, we require the applicants to look after this equipment and carry out daily pre use inspections.
Applicants will be subject to an interview with the possibility of trial days if required. Own transport will be required to and from our yard location on a daily basis. A work vehicle will be provided for travel to and from site.
Applicants should have a Full Driving Licence as work is often in remote areas. Due to the nature of the work, there could be a proportion of working away, weekends and anti-social hours.
Renumeration is dependent on levels of experience and competencies. Training and personal development plans for each successful candidate will be put into place.
The purpose of this, is to add to our existing team we have, the most important thing is a “Can do” attitude, because “That will do” Won’t do here!
